Labor Day Weekend

It used to be if we happened upon a long weekend we could get a lot accomplished.  Not the case anymore.

Day One:  Trip to Home Depot with the fam to buy new tile.  Demo of the existing linoleum floor (2 layers).

Day 2:  Trip to Home Depot to buy self leveling compound, yes floor was not level.  Application of the leveling compound.  And then most of the day spent watching football.

Day 3:  Installation of cement board, caulking, painting trim.

Day 4:  Switch directions and instead of tiling we decide to get the paint done first.  The walls are in bad shape so original plan was to do a textured wall finish.  Jesse decides to attempt mudding the walls and see if it looks good enough to paint over.  Most of day was spent mudding and wet sanding.

And then the weekend was over.  The picture above was taken Monday night.  We have a long way to go in a couple of weeks which means doing work during the weekdays.

Day 5:  During naptime priming the walls.

I'm sure you are all dying to see what color I picked out for the walls!
